Oluwatosin Olowoyeye-Taiwo is the CEO of Street to School Initiative. She is an advocate for educating out-of-school children in densely populated communities in Nigeria. Oluwatosin is a Teacher, Social Entrepreneur and Education Consultant who has been empowering out-of-school children and high school drop outs by sponsoring their education back to the classrooms. In 2015, she initiated a tuition-free school to promote access to quality education and continuous learning for vulnerable out-of-school children in under-served communities.
Oluwatosin has designed and overseen programmes that empowers and equip high school teachers across three Nigerian states, with necessary pedagogical and digital skills to bridge digital divide. Teachers were taught best practices for curriculum development, lesson planning, effective technology use, and student-centered teaching methods to promote teaching excellence in Nigerian schools.
With over 16 years of professional experience, Oluwatosin career has straddled Education, Gender and Social Entrepreneurship. She has supported more than 38,000 children and youths to acquire formal learning, a recipe for sustainable development and national growth.
Oluwatosin, a recipient of the United States Consul-General Award in 2013, participated in the 2014 International Visitor Leadership Program in the United States. In 2017, she was recognized by the Nigerian Network of NGOs (NNNGO), with the Yemisi Ransome-Kuti Leadership Award. In 2020, the BusinessDay Newspaper recognized her as one of 60 Nigerian Women who was making significant impact in the country.
Oluwatosin is a registered Professional Teacher (TRCN), a member of Inclusive Leadership Committee (ILC), Canada and a Hub team member, ECHO Education, Nigeria.
Oluwatosin is a graduate of Computer Science and Social Sector Management from the University of Lagos State and Pan-Atlantic University, respectively. She has Professional Diploma in Education from Corona College of Education.
